In the UK, around 31 million people use the internet, and approximately 60% (18 million people) make online purchases, according to a report by Verdict Research produced for Webloyalty, a leading provider of incremental venue for e-businesses.

The Verdict research showed that drivers for online purchases are very different from drivers for high street purchases. Online consumers are particularly sensitive to price, and as such are very receptive to discounts offered by retailers.
